This is a extremely rare antique highly carved oak regulator longcase grandfather clock which has a very impressive display. Amazing solid oak carved case with a absolutely stunning patina and colour which displays wonderfully. The hand carved decoration to the case is of the highest quality and in excellent condition, where ever you look over the face of the clock you have the amazing carved finely detailed decoration which stands out beautifully on display.
Original glass to the door which has 2 hook latches and a lock to hold it shut, all in working order. At the top of the case you have a carved face mount to the top pediment which is typical of lenzkirch clocks.The case has very impressive proportions and is an exceptional example and a beautiful display piece with everything being original to each other. Original 12 inch diameter engraved silvered dial.
Engraved Roman numerals with original pierced hands and centre seconds hand. The dial is in excellent original condition. Original high quality German 8 day twin weight driven regulator movement with dead beat escapement and maintaining power.The movement strikes a coiled gong on the half past and the hours. Comes supplied with its original very heavy gridiron regulator Pendulum, 2 very heavy brass weights and a winding key. Movement is in full working order keeping perfect time as you would expect of a regulator and striking when it should as can be seen in the video above. German made, unsigned Serial number 45002. Victorian - Late 19th century. The clock in total measures 100 inches high x 26.5 inches wide (at widest) x 12 inches deep (at deepest). The trunk measures 20 inches wide x 9 inches deep. The dial measures 12 inches diameter. This is a extremely rare high quality regulator longcase clock which is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece.
