A rare 17th century carved Savonarola chair
A rare 17th century Flemish Savonarola arm chair. Constructed from oak, the chair is finely carved with strap work detail to the X-frame on both sides with two lions head roundels. The arms have different designs to each side, with one side having acanthus scrolls and the other grotesque heads. The chair has later very worn and faded upholstery probably dating from the 19th century. This chair is designed to be used either in the middle of the room or up against a wall with the wall acting as the back of the chair. The chair is in fantastic condition with only a few minor losses and is also very comfortable to sit on. T&C's - We are not liable for any costs incurred should a return be necessary.
